The Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA) is proud to support high-school culinary and hospitality programs across Pennsylvania and works to provide them with industry-approved curriculum solutions for culinary arts, restaurant management and hospitality education.

Through ProStart, a nationally recognized culinary arts and restaurant management program, and the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program (HTMP) which introduces students to career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry, high-school students receive industry-driven curriculum and are provided with real-world educational opportunities and practical skills to open doors for fulfilling careers. Each program gives students the ability to obtain an industry-recognized certificate, as well as competition participation and scholarship opportunities.

PRLA will be hosting an informational webinar on the ProStart & HTMP programs on May 1^st at 3:30 p.m. Learn more about the programs and how your school can get involved. Elizabeth Rice from the National Restaurant Association Solutions will be joining us to discuss the ins and outs of the curriculum. The 30-minute session is free and will cover the program’s basics. About the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program (HTMP)

HTMP is a two-level curriculum which introduces high school students to the hospitality & tourism industry on a global scale. HTMP was developed by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute in partnership with industry experts and academia professionals.
