PABBI Joins PRLA, Unifying and Strengthening the Industry’s Voice

Harrisburg, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns (PABBI) today announced that it will officially join forces with the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association (PRLA), effective August 1, 2025. This strategic partnership formally brings the state’s independent innkeepers new resources, expanded advocacy, and pronounced visibility – creating powerful new opportunities for growth, support, and success.

Over the past decade, PRLA has expanded its reach beyond restaurants and hotels to include Pennsylvania’s destination marketing organizations, amusement parks, attractions, campgrounds, caterers, and more. Representing thousands of owners and operators statewide, PRLA works to promote, protect, educate, improve, and advance Pennsylvania’s hospitality and tourism industries.

“Hospitality is stronger when we work together,” said Joe Massaro, PRLA president & CEO. “Whether we’re fighting human trafficking, advocating for fair regulations and parity in the industry, or ensuring tourism funding reaches every corner of the Commonwealth, we’re all in this together. Welcoming Pennsylvania’s B&Bs into the PRLA family reinforces our commitment to a shared mission: to protect, promote, and elevate Pennsylvania’s hospitality industry.”

With PRLA’s leadership regularly meeting with the Pennsylvania General Assembly, as well as state tourism and economic development officials, B&Bs will have a meaningful seat at the table in shaping policies that impact our industry’s future funding and licensing to tourism promotion. Working together, new educational pathways can be developed that encourage a new generation of innkeepers.

“Our missions have always aligned,” said Debra Miller, chair of the PABBI Board of Directors. “We’re committed to a wonderful guest experience, safety, economic growth, and supporting all hospitality businesses. This partnership strengthens PABBI’s mission.”

All current PABBI members will automatically become PRLA members on August 1, 2025. Their interests will be represented through a newly established PA Bed & Breakfast Inns (PABBI) Council within PRLA, comprised of current PABBI board members, which will focus solely on advocacy, education, and issues unique to the B&B community.

“I’m excited to be selected to lead the PABBI Council that will retain a clear and consistent identity for Pa.’s B&Bs within PRLA,” said Zakary Pyzik, PRLA Senior Director of Public Affairs. “Bringing B&Bs into PRLA will help shape tailored advocacy recommendations, educational opportunities, and marketing messages that reflect the unique needs and voice of our bed and breakfast community.

This partnership strengthens our collective voice at every level of government, unlocks new resources, and ensures that the unique charm and impact of our B&Bs is never overlooked.”
